The bolts must be 45 mm long.
- when the length is 45 mm, the threaded holes are entirely filled by the bolts. See the Image 1.
- when the bolt length is too short, the bolts will not extend through the threaded holes. See Image 2.
If bolt lengths are not 45 mm, remove the bolts, and replace them with two 8T8184 Bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 100 +/-20 N.m.

The two 8T8184 Bolts that hold the vibratory pump to the propel pump need to be inspected and replaced if necessary on the products listed below. The existing bolts may not be the correct length, which could allow them to become loose and not hold the pump properly. You will not be charged for the service performed.
Contact your local Caterpillar dealer immediately to schedule this service. The dealer will advise you of the time required to complete this service.
Please refer the dealer to their Service Letter dated 06Jun2008 when scheduling this service.
