Engine3512C (S/N: NJT1-234)Description Of Change: The new cylinder pack components prevent carbon build up on the top land of the pistonAdaptable To: The following changes are adaptable to the engines within the listed serial numbers and are effective with all engines after the listed serial numbers.Use 471-6593 Tool As (Installation Tool) to install the standard ring compressor, when installing the cuff liner components.The new 485-8003 Tool As (Ring Compressor) is available, which is compatible to work with cuffed and non-cuffed liners. The new 485-8003 Tool As (Ring Compressor) is designed to seat inside the cuff counter bore, eliminating the need for 471-6593 Tool As (Installation Tool).Note: The connecting rods are reusable.Note: Do not mix the single piece forged steel piston designed for the single piece cylinder system with the single piece forged steel pistons designed for the cuff cylinder system. The rotating masses and system dynamics are different between the designs and are not compatible within the same engine.Note: Make sure that 516-1856 Sleeve (Cuff Sleeve) is in each cylinder prior to installing the cylinder heads.The new and former part numbers are listed in Table 1.
