Original DEIF controllers that are exposed to high internal package temperatures can experience premature failure.Solution
Rewire the radiator fan motor from the generator bus to the load bus. Update the DEIF software logic on the serial numbers listed above. The new software logic initiates full fan speed upon a load shed to maximize the airflow through the enclosure. Also, the new software logic allows the radiator cooling fan to run upon shutdown until the jacket water temperature reaches 55° C (131° F). These updates reduce the temperatures in the enclosure, protecting the DEIF controller.
