Component Code(s) 5068SUBJECT: The Hydraulic Base Of The 160-7752 Oil (Pump Case Drain) Filter May Be Installed Incorrectly
PROBLEM:
There are two 160-9358 Hydraulic Bases that are part of the 160-7752 Oil (Pump Case Drain) Filters. These are either located behind the hydraulic tank (5YW1-229) or on the side of the hydraulic tank (5YW230-Up). These hydraulic bases may be installed backwards. This will cause the by-pass valve in the hydraulic base to not operate. In addition, the filters will be less efficient.
SOLUTION:

Visually inspect the 160-7752 Oil (Pump Case Drain) Filters to make sure that they are installed correctly.

There are two arrows on the top of the hydraulic bases. When the hydraulic bases are installed correctly, the arrows will point in the direction of oil flow from the pumps to the hydraulic tank.
If the hydraulic bases are installed backwards, they will have to be removed and then reinstalled in the correct direction. Do not reuse the old 102-2828 Oil Filters, seals or O-ring seals. Install new 102-2828 Oil Filters, seals and O-ring seals.
