AllTwo improvements have been made to the provisioning process for the 263-9088 Communication Electronic Control Module (PRODUCT LINK 121SR). The 263-9088 Communication Electronic Control Module (PRODUCT LINK 121SR) is commonly known as the Product Link 121SR or PL121SR. Provisioning is the process of supplying the identification number of the radio components to the satellite network provider. These identification numbers authorize communication between the PL121SR and the communication satellites. A unit cannot be registered if the unit is not provisioned.Note: The 263-9088 Communication Electronic Control Module (PRODUCT LINK 121SR) is an integral component of the PL321SR system.The first improvement was to implement a 100% end of line inspection to eliminate the possibility of unprovisionined PL121SR from reaching the parts supply system. The end of line inspection has been active since August 2007.The second improvement was to simplify the provisioning process by removing many unnecessary communication steps. The new provisioning process will eliminate any unprovisioned units from the supply chain. Any PL121SR provisioned under the new process can be identified by the changes to the module ID number. Refer to Illustration 1. Previous ID numbers began with "DQ02". New module ID numbers will begin with the letters "DQCAT" and are followed by seven digits.
