Main Control Valve GroupLocation of the Ball Valve (Manual Lower)Note: Before testing the machine for drift, ensure that the ball valve (manual lower) is blocking the flow of pilot oil to the hydraulic tank. The ball valve is located in the loader frame at the articulation hitch.Reference: Use Testing And Adjusting, SENR1367, "Lift Cylinder - Isolate for Drift Check" and Testing And Adjusting, SENR1367, "Tilt Cylinder - Isolate for Drift Check" in order to isolate the problem.Note: If the machine is equipped with ride control, use the Service Manual module Testing and Adjusting, "Ride Control Valve - Isolate for Drift Check" for the machine that is being serviced.Reference: If necessary, perform the Testing and Adjusting, SENR1367, "992G Wheel Loader Hydraulic System", "Lift and Tilt Cylinder Drift (Engine Off, Key Off) - Check" procedure.Note: For all drift tests, the bucket must be empty.
Move the machine to an open area so that the bucket can be fully raised.
Connect the steering frame lock link.
Engage the parking brake.
Shift the transmission to neutral.
Start the engine and warm the hydraulic oil to 65 3°C (150 5°F).
Move the lift cylinder in and out for five repetitions in order to make sure that there is warm oil in the lift cylinder.
Fully extend the lift cylinders. Move the lift control lever to the HOLD position. Run the engine at low idle speed.
Stop the engine. Leave the key start switch in the OFF position.
Check the distance of rod movement in 1.7 minutes. For a new cylinder, the maximum rod movement in 1.7 minutes is 17 mm (0.67 inch).
Start the engine.
Fully extend the lift cylinders. Move the lift control lever to the HOLD position.
Move the tilt cylinder in and out for five repetitions in order to make sure that there is warm oil in the tilt cylinder. The hydraulic oil temperature must be 65 3°C (150 5°F).
Position the bucket so that the bottom of the bucket is parallel to the ground. Move the tilt control lever to the HOLD position.
Stop the engine. Leave the key start switch in the OFF position.
Check the distance of rod movement in 1.7 minutes. For a new cylinder, the maximum rod movement in 1.7 minutes is 25 mm (1.0 inch).
