Removal Procedure
Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
Open the engine enclosure.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove the nut, the washer, and two cable assemblies (1) from electric starting motor (2).
Remove the nut, the washer, and wire assembly (4) from electric starting motor (2).
Remove the nut, the washer, and two ground straps (5) from electric starting motor (2).
Remove three bolts (3) and electric starting motor (2). Installation Procedure
Install electric starting motor (2) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten the nut to two ground straps (5) to a torque of 18 1 N m (1590 9 lb in).
Tighten the nut to two cable assemblies (1) to a torque of 15 3 N m (133 27 lb in).
