Secondary Steering Pump
(1) Drive shaft. (2) Idler gear. (3) Inlet port. (4) Drive gear. (5) Pump housing. (6) Outlet port.
Secondary steering pump (18) is mounted onto the front of the output transfer gear housing above the output shaft. Diverter valve (16) is mounted to secondary steering pump (18). If the primary steering pump (13) fails to pump oil or if the engine stops, the diverter valve (16) will allow oil pressure from secondary steering pump (18) to flow to steering control valve (1).If the primary steering pump (13) fails to pump oil, flow switch (19) alerts the operator of a failure by sending a warning signal to the cab.
