Removal Procedure
Start By:
Remove the gear pump (transmission).
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Make note of the orientation of all hose assemblies for installation purposes.

Disconnect clips (1) and position the hose assemblies out of the way.

Disconnect hose assemblies (2) and hose assemblies (3). Position hose assemblies (2) and hose assemblies (3) out of the way.

Disconnect tube assembly (4) from the bottom of the piston pump assembly.

Attach a suitable lifting device to piston pump assembly (9). The weight of piston pump assembly (9) is approximately 165 kg (364 lb).
Remove bolts (6), bolts (7), and support (8). Remove bolts (5) , piston pump assembly (9), and the O-ring seal.Installation Procedure
Install piston pump assembly (9) in the reverse order of removal.
