2. Remove the bolts and washers that hold two covers (1) in position. Remove the two covers from the left rear side of the machine.3. Open the access door above the brake accumulator. 4. Remove two bolts (2) and the washers that hold the brake accumulator in position at the top. 5. Disconnect hose assembly (3) from the brake control valve. 6. Disconnect tube assembly (4).7. Fasten a lifting strap and a hoist to the brake accumulator as shown. 8. Remove two bolts (5) and the washers that hold the brake accumulator in position at the bottom. 9. Remove brake accumulator (6) from the machine. The weight of the brake accumulator is 45 kg (100 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the brake accumulator.10. Check the condition of the O-ring seals used in the end of the hose assembly and tube assembly that connect to the brake accumulator. If any of the seals are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.11. Install the brake accumulator in the reverse order of removal. Start By:a. remove brake accumulator 1. Fasten tool (A) to the nitrogen charging valve in the top of the brake accumulator. Open the valve slowly to release the nitrogen from the accumulator.2. Remove valve assembly (1) from the head. Remove the washer from the head. 3. Remove hose assembly (4) from the bottom of the brake accumulator.4. Remove four bolts (3), the washers and bracket (2) from the bottom of the brake accumulator. 5. Use tool (B) to remove head (5) from the accumulator.
Typical Example6. Remove back-up ring (6) and O-ring seal (7) from the head.
Typical Example7. Using tooling (C), remove piston (8) from the accumulator.8. Remove the wear ring and seal assembly from the piston. The following steps are for the assembly of the brake accumulator.9. Be sure all parts of the brake accumulator are thoroughly clean prior to assembly.10. Check the condition of the O-ring seals, back-up ring and wear ring used in the brake accumulator. If any of the components are worn or damaged, use new parts for replacement.11. Install the wear ring and seal assembly on piston (8).12. Partially install piston (8) in the accumulator by hand. Be sure the threaded hole in the piston is facing toward the head end of the accumulator. Using tooling (C), push the piston to the bottom of the accumulator.13. Install back-up ring (6) and O-ring seal (7) on head (5) in the positions shown.14. Put clean 5P0960 Multipurpose Grease on the threads in the accumulator and on the head. Install head (5) in the accumulator, and tighten it to a torque of 600 130 N m (441 96 lb ft).15. Reinstall bracket (2) on the bottom of the accumulator. Use bolts (3) to
