Personal injury can result from hydraulic oil pressure and hot oil.Hydraulic oil pressure can remain in the hydraulic system after the engine has been stopped. Serious injury can be caused if this pressure is not released before any service is done on the hydraulic system.Make sure all of the attachments have been lowered, oil is cool before removing any components or lines. Remove the oil filler cap only when the engine is stopped, and the filler cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.
TILT CIRCUIT MANIFOLD
(1) Fitting (in rod end circuit). (2) Fitting (in head end circuit). 1. Move the machine to a smooth level location. Move away from working machines and personnel.2. Permit only one operator on the machine. Keep all other personnel either away from the machine or in view of the operator.3. Engage the Parking brake. Put blocks in front of and behind the wheels.4. When the bucket is raised for tests or adjustments, be sure that the bucket and lift arm has correct support. The lift circuit has high oil pressure when the lift arms raise the front of the machine. Do not stop the engine with the front of the machine off the ground, unless a system test requires it. Lower the machine to the ground and stop the engine.5. Install the steering frame lock link so the machine can not turn.6. To make sure all hydraulic pressure is released before any fitting, hose or component is loosened, tightened, removed or adjusted, perform the following steps:a. If the machine is equipped with ride control, turn the ride control switch to the ON position.b. Lower the bucket to the ground. Move the joystick control lever to the FLOAT position. This will relieve all of the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator.c. Stop the engine.d. Move the joystick control lever to the HOLD position.e. Push on the service brake pedal at least 50 times to release any pressure in the brake accumulators.f. Release the pressure in the hydraulic tank, by depressing the hydraulic tank relief valve until no more air escapes.g. Connect a 27 600 kPa (4000 psi) gauge to test point (1) in the hose manifold at the top of the front frame. If any pressure is registered on the gauge move the control lever to all positions until all pressure is removed from the system.h. Connect a 27 600 kPa (4000 psi) gauge to test point (2) in the hose manifold at the top of the front frame. If any pressure is registered on the gauge move the control lever to all positions until all pressure is removed from the system.i. The pressure in the system has now been released and lines or components can be removed.j. Remove the test equipment.
