Cab (7) Electronic transmission controlWith the key start switch in the ON position, 24 volt power is supplied from the batteries via circuit breaker #10 to the parking brake switch, via circuit breaker #9 to the electronic transmission control, and via circuit breaker #1 to the Caterpillar Monitoring System.

Dash panel (8) Parking brake alert indicator (9) Caterpillar Monitoring SystemWhen parking brake switch (1) is moved to the ON position, 24 volt power from the parking brake switch to parking brake solenoids (5) will be interurrupted. The pressure oil in the wheel brakes is returned to the hydraulic tank and the parking brake is engaged. In this condition transmission low oil pressure switch - alert indictor (2) sends a signal to electronic transmission control (7). The electronic transmission control sends a signal via the CAT Data Link to Caterpillar Monitoring System (9). The Caterpillar Monitoring System turns on parking brake alert indicator (8) .When the key start switch is in the ON position and the parking brake switch is in the OFF position, the parking brake switch must be cycled to allow the parking brake to be disengaged.When the oil pressure decreases in the brake system service brake low oil pressure switch (3) will activate. The service brake low oil pressure switch activates parking brake relay (4). The parking brake will engage.When the oil pressure in the transmission decreases below a set value, the transmission oil pressure switch sends a signal to the parking brake relay. The parking brake will engage.When the parking brake switch is moved to the OFF position, 24 volt power from the parking brake switch is supplied to activate the parking brake solenoids. This will allow pressure oil to flow to the wheel brakes to disengage the parking brake. The parking brake alert indicator will be off.
