(3) Rod end portThe stick cylinder moves the stick in and out. When hydraulic fluids flows into head end port (1) of stick cylinder (2), the cylinder extends. This action moves the stick inwards on the machine. When hydraulic fluid flows into rod end port (3) of stick cylinder (2), the cylinder retracts. The purpose of buffer seal (15) is to reduce the pressure spikes on seal (16) and backup ring (19) to increase longevity.Seal (16) blocks oil from passing externally through cylinder head (12). Seal (16) also blocks external liquid from entering the cylinder.Wiper seal (20) has a lip seal that is pointed outward to wipe of debris of the rod during retraction. (21) PassageWhen stick cylinder (2) retracts and becomes close to the end of the retraction stroke, passage (21) is restricted by snubber (4). This action causes rod (6) to slow down before maximum retraction is performed.
