Remove and set aside the P clip and associated hardware from the two hoses for reuse.
Loosen the two hose clamps for the hose between the canister and valve cover.
Remove and discard the hose.
Discard the hose clamp on the valve cover end.Note: The hose clamp on the canister will be reused.

(2) Hose between the valve cover and in-line heater (9) Hose clamp for valve cover
Attach hose (2) to the valve cover with one hose clamp (9) .

Install the original P clip around hose (2) and the existing hose. Refer to Illustration 6 for the correct orientation of the P clip.
Attach the original P clip to the existing bracket with the original hardware.
Install one P clip (6) around hose (2) and the existing hose.
Install one bolt (8) and one nut (7) into P clip (6). Refer to Illustration 6 for the correct orientation of the P clip.

(2) Hose between the valve cover and in-line heater (3) Hose clamp for in-line heater (4) Hose between the in-line heater and canister (5) In-line heater
Attach in-line heater (5) to hose (2) with one hose clamp (3) .Note: The in-line heater must be oriented with the arrow pointing towards the canister as shown in Illustration 7.
Attach hose (4) to in-line heater (5) use one hose clamp (3) .
Attach hose (4) to the canister with the original hose clamp.

(2) Hose between the valve cover and in-line heater
Ensure that there is clearance between the egr cooler flange and hose (2). Refer to the arrow in Illustration 8.

(5) In-line heater (1C) Harness fuse (1D) Harness connector to in-line heater
Attach harness connector (1D) to in-line heater (5) .
Cable strap harness fuse (1C) to the wiring harness, so the harness fuse is not hanging down.

(1E) Ground wire
Attach ground wire (1E) to the ground on the engine block.

Pull the red tab to the left on the original connector.
Press the black tab and pull to disconnect the original connector.

Attach harness connectors (1A) and (1B) to the original connectors that was disconnected in Step 18.
Secure wiring harness (1) to the engine wiring harness with cable straps.
