Which Generate This Code:A device was disconnected from the AccuGrade Laser system and then reconnected.Test Step 1. CHECK THE SYSTEM COMPONENTS CONNECTION
Turn the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Inspect all harness connections that are related to the AccuGrade Laser. Make sure that the connectors are clean and tight.
Turn the disconnect switch to the ON position.Expected Result:The diagnostic code is no longer active. The system components are connected properly. Results:
OK - The system components are connected properly. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NOT OK - One or more of the system components are not connected properly.Repair: Perform the following procedure.
Check the connectors for proper mating. Ensure that all the seals are present and in place.
Check the harness for signs of damage or abrasion.
Check for moisture inside the connector.
Check the connectors for dirty contacts or corroded contacts.
Check each pin and each socket of the machine harness connectors. Ensure that the contacts are properly installed. The contacts should mate correctly when the two pieces of the connector are placed together. If diagnostic code "CB 29" continues to occur, proceed to test step 2.Test Step 2. CHECK THE WIRING HARNESS OF THE AFFECTED COMPONENTAn open is a failure of an electrical circuit that results in no flow of electrical current. An open circuit is usually caused by failed electrical wires or a poor connection of electrical connectors. If an electrical wire or a connection is broken, the flow of electrical current through the circuit is interrupted. A normally closed circuit will have less than 5 ohms of resistance. The following procedure explains the test for an open circuit:TEST FOR AN OPEN CIRCUIT.
Identify the connectors and the wire numbers of the suspect circuits. Refer to the electrical schematic of the machine in order to identify the circuits.
Turn the key start switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the components from the wiring harness.
At one of the disconnected harness connections, place a jumper wire from the contact of the suspect wire to frame ground.
At the other connector of the machine harness, use the multimeter probes to measure the resistance from the contact of the suspect wire to frame ground.Expected Result:The resistance is less than 5 ohms. Results:
OK - The resistance is less than 5 ohms. The harness circuit is correct. Stop.
NOT OK - The resistance is greater than 5 ohms. There is an open in the machine harness.Repair: Repair the affected harness or replace the affected harness. Stop.
