Information:

Sudden movement of the machine or release of oil under pressure can cause serious injury to persons on or near the machine. To prevent possible injury, perform the procedure that follows before testing and adjusting the hydraulic system.

Tools Needed
Qty     Part Number     Description
1     4C-4892     ORFS Fittings Group
1     8T-0858     Pressure Gauge
1     8T-0857     Pressure Gauge    Refer to the Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, "Machine Preparation for Troubleshooting" before beginning the test.Make the test and necessary adjustments to the BAIL RAISE pressure setting first. When the BAIL RAISE pressure setting of the pressure control valve has been corrected, the BAIL DOWN pressure setting will be set automatically.Pressure Setting (BAIL RAISE)

Cylinder Lines for the Bail (1) Line to rod end of bail cylinder (2) Line to head end of bail cylinderThe bail cylinder is located on the front, left side of the machine. To check the BAIL RAISE pressure setting, the bail must be raised.
Install a 8T-0858 Pressure Gauge in line (1) on the rod end of the cylinder. Use the parts from 4C-4892 ORFS Fittings Group to install the gauge.
Start the engine. Move the solenoid switch to the BAIL RAISE position.
Operate the engine at high idle. The pressure gauge should read 7600 350 kPa (1102 51 psi).

Push-Pull Control Valve (3) Valve (4) Piston (5) ShimsIf the pressure is not correct, stop the engine. Remove valve (3) from the push-pull control valve. Check piston (4) in order to make sure that the piston (4) is free and does not stick. The pressure can be changed by the addition of shims (5) or the removal of shims (5) . Add shims (5) in order to increase the pressure. Remove shims (5) in order to decrease the pressure. One shim will change the pressure approximately 190 kPa (28 psi). After the adjustment has been made, check the pressure in order to ensure that the setting is correct.Pressure Setting (BAIL DOWN)
Use the parts in the 4C-4892 ORFS Fittings Group to install a 8T-0857 Pressure Gauge in the head end circuit. Install the gauge between line (2) and the elbow at the base of the cylinder.
Start the engine. Lower the bail against the stops.
With the engine at high idle and the solenoid switch in the BAIL DOWN position, the pressure gauge should read 3900 350 kPa (566 51 psi).Note: If the pressure setting for the BAIL RAISE has been adjusted, the BAIL DOWN pressure will automatically be correct. If the pressure is incorrect, check valve (3) in order to ensure that piston (4) moves freely.
