LoadersDescription of Change: A new bevel gear and pinion are now available as a set for use in the front and rear differential groups on 980B Loaders. The new bevel gear and pinion will be put together at the factory and then kept together as a set. This will result in an improved tooth contact pattern and longer service life. Also, with the new bevel gear and pinion set it will be necessary to install a plug in the end of the pinion. Formerly, both the bevel gear and pinion were available for parts service separately.
Adaptable To: The new 9V3807 Gear And Pinion Assembly and 5K4040 Plug are a direct replacement for the former 5K3423 Pinion and 5K3418 Bevel Gear. The former parts have been canceled. For replacement of either or both of the former parts, order both the new parts. The 5K4040 Plug must be installed in the end of the pinion with the small diameter of the plug towards the outside.
