Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Open the engine access door on the right side of the machine.

Open crankcase drain valve (2) and allow the oil to drain into a suitable container. Close the drain valve.
Use a strap type wrench to remove filter element (1). Inspect the oil filter.Note: Do not permit oil to drip on the batteries.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Oil Filter - Inspect" for more information.
Clean the filter housing base. Make sure that all of the used filter gasket is completely removed.

Apply a thin coat of clean engine oil to the sealing surface of the new filter element.
Install the new filter element by hand. After the gasket contacts the filter base, tighten the filter by an additional 3/4 turn.

Open the access door on the right side of the machine. Remove filler cap (3). Fill the crankcase with new oil.Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities and Refill Capacities" for the correct type of oil and for the correct amount of oil.
Clean the filler cap and install the filler cap.
Start the engine and allow the oil to warm. Check for leaks.
Stop the engine. Check the oil level on dipstick (4) .Reference: Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil Level - Check" for the correct procedure.
Close the engine access doors.
