Some of the 243-3820 Display Module Groups (Messenger) have been produced and shipped with incorrect software. The incorrect 243-3824 Monitor Software Group was intended only for pilot production. The incorrect software may cause the buttons for the display to function incorrectly. If you select the button for the RIGHT direction, the incorrect software may cause the display to move LEFT through the screen map. The software part number is displayed for five seconds on powerup of the Messenger display. Also, the software part number is displayed in the last screen in the "Display Configuration" column. Solution
Use Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET) and select the WINFlash program. Select the Messenger display and flash the display with 243-3819 Monitor Software Group . Refer to SISWeb and TMI for the available software. Verify that the new software has been loaded. The software part number is displayed in the last screen in the "Display Configuration" column.
