Information:

Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires, and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, hoses, and tubes. This helps to prevent fluid loss and to keep contaminants from entering the system.
If equipped, lower the ripper to the ground. Remove the ripper shanks or invert the ripper shanks.
Drain the power train oil system into a suitable container for storage or disposal. Refer to Operation and Maintenance, "Transmission Oil - Change". The capacity of the power train oil system is 144 L (38 US gal).

Separate the planetary from the differential. Use the Tooling for removing the axle.
Insert Tooling (F) into the left final drive by approximately 940 mm (37.0 inch). Rotate Tooling (F) for 180 degrees. Pull Tooling (F) outward to move the sliding carrier off the bevel gear shaft. Rotate Tooling (F) for 180 degrees and remove Tooling (F).

Disconnect harness assembly (1).

Remove nut (2). Push connector (3) through cover (4).
Remove bolts (5).
Remove covers (6) and (7).

Remove bolts (8).
Install Tooling (A). Tighten Tooling (A) evenly to remove carrier (9). Remove the O-ring seal from carrier (9).

Remove O-ring seals (10) and (11).
Remove bolts (12) and cover (13).

Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to the transmission. Apply a slight lifting force.
Remove hose assembly (14), bracket (15), and bolts (16).

Install Tooling (C). Remove handle (17). Tighten Tooling (C) evenly to separate transmission and bevel gear (18) from the main frame.

Pull transmission and bevel gear (18) away from the case and frame until rollers (19) are to the end of rail assembly (20).

Position Tooling (D) under the rear end of transmission and bevel gear (18). Remove the suitable lifting device from Tooling (B).

Remove bolts (21) and handle (22).

Install Tooling (E) and a suitable lifting device to the bevel gear housing.

Remove transmission and bevel gear (18). Insert a prybar into Tooling (B) to balance the load of transmission and bevel gear (18). The weight of transmission and bevel gear (18) is approximately 590 kg (1300 lb).

Remove O-ring seals (23) and (24).
