Information:

Torque for all 1/2 in. locknuts that hold rod ends in place on the rods ... 55 10 N m (41 7 lb ft) All rod assembly measurements must be made in a straight line between the centerlines of the rod end mounting holes.(1) Assembled length of rod assembly ... 411.0 1.5 mm (16.18 .06 in)(7) Assembled length of rod assembly ... 367.0 1.5 mm (14.45 .06 in) Apply 3S6252 RTV Silicone Sealant between the housing assembly and the steering clutch cover and the adjuster cover and the steering clutch cover. Apply 5P3413 Pipe Sealant to the bolts that fasten the housing assembly and the adjuster cover to the steering clutch cover.Brake Adjustment Procedure
When adjusting the brakes, the brakes must be released. Put blocks in front of and behind both tracks to prevent machine movement during brake adjustment.
Field Procedure To Adjust Brakes
1. Measure steering lever travel. a. Measure length E with the steering lever at rest.b. Measure length D with the steering lever pulled with a force of 90 9 N (20 2 lb).c. Subtract length E from length D to determine steering lever travel.2. Steering lever travel must be 155 7 mm (6.1 .3 in) when pulled with a force of 90 9 N (20 2 lb). For each 5 mm (.2 in) of steering lever travel exceeding 162 mm (6.4 in), tighten adjusting screw (6) clockwise 60° (1/6 turn) until 155 mm (6.1 in) of lever travel is obtained. 60° (1/6 turn) is equal to one flat on the adjusting screw hex.Shop Procedure To Adjust Brakes
1. Tighten adjusting screw (6) to a torque of 45 7 N m (33 5 lb ft).2. Loosen adjusting screw (6) two and one half turns (fifteen flats on the hex).3. While pulling rod (2) downward [with enough force to ensure that the brake pedal is against the upper stop and lever (9) is against the plate of lever assembly (8)], adjust the length of rod (2) to obtain dimension (G) of 109.0 1.5 mm (4.29 .06 in) between the firewall and the center of the rod end hole in lever (5).4. Attach rod (4) to lever (5).5. Pull lever (3) to its rearmost position and hold.6. While pulling rod (4) toward the rear [with enough force to ensure that the brake pedal is against the upper stop and lever (9) is against the plate of lever assembly (8)], adjust the length of rod (4) to freely connect to lever (3).7. Steering lever travel must be 155 7 mm (6.1 .3 in) when pulled with a force of 90 9 N (20 2 lb). The difference in lever travel between the left lever and the right lever must not exceed 7 mm (.3 in) when the levers are pulled with a force of 90 9 N (20 2 lb).8. Check steering control valve cam to roller clearance and
