4C-4890     Hydraulic Test Group     1    Park the machine on a level surface. Move the transmission control to the NEUTRAL position and move the parking brake control to the ENGAGED position. Shut off the engine.Install the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".Brake Charging System Cut Out Pressure.
Make repeated light applications of the service brakes until all the pressure which is stored in the brake accumulators is fully exhausted.
Remove the dust cap and install a 25000 kPa (3600 psi) pressure gauge to the test fitting for brake charging.ReferenceRefer to Testing and Adjusting, "General Information" for the location of the test fitting for the machine that is being tested.
Start the engine. Operate the engine at low idle and observe the pressure gauge. The pressure should increase up to 16900 1050 kPa (2450 150 psi). This is the cut out pressure for the piston pump.
Shut off the engine. Make repeated light applications of the service brakes and observe the pressure on the pressure gauges. As successive service brake applications are made the pressure readings will fall. The pressures will suddenly fall to zero.
Remove the pressure gauges from the machine.
Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".Brake Charging System Cut In Pressure.

While the engine is still running make repeated light applications of the service brakes and observe the pressure on the pressure gauges. The pressure should slowly fall to 13500 700 kPa (1950 100 psi) before the pressure on the gauge increases. When the pressure on the gauge begins to increase, this is the cut in pressure for the piston pump.
Shut off the engine. Make repeated light applications of the service brakes and observe the pressure on the pressure gauges. As successive service brake applications are made the pressure readings will fall. The pressures will suddenly fall to zero.
Remove the pressure gauges from the machine.
Remove the steering frame lock. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Steering Frame Lock".
