214-4316 Stick Lines Gp Installation Procedure
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Put identification marks on all hoses, hose assemblies, harness assemblies, and on all tube assemblies for installation purposes. Plug all hose assemblies and all tube assemblies. Plugging hoses and tubes helps to prevent fluid loss, and helps to keep contaminants from entering the system.

Be certain that all hydraulic pressure has been relieved.
Assemble the ball valve to the tube and loosely attach the hardware to the tube.
Remove paint from the side of the stick in the area where plates will be welded. Refer to the dimensions in the above drawings for these areas.
Using the assembled parts in steps 2 and 1 as a guide, place and tack weld the plates to the side of the stick.
Remove the tube and ball valve and complete the welds.
Clean up and paint plates welded on the stick prior to final assembly of tubes.
Assemble the tubes to the clamps
Connect hoses to the boom tubes with the hardware and O-rings supplied.
