Hot engine components can cause injury from burns. Before performing maintenance on the engine, allow the engine and the components to cool.
At operating temperature, the engine coolant is hot and under pressure.Steam can cause personal injury.Check the coolant level only after the engine has been stopped and the fill cap is cool enough to touch with your bare hand.Remove the fill cap slowly to relieve pressure.Cooling system conditioner contains alkali. Avoid contact with the skin and eyes to prevent personal injury.
Open the hood.

Remove panel (1).

Remove ball clamp (2). Note: Put alignment marks on both sides of ball clamp (2) for installation purposes. Discard ball clamp (2).

Remove heat shield (3). Remove clamp (5) and tube (4). Disconnect hose assemblies (6). Disconnect clamp (7).

Disconnect sensor (8). Disconnect harness assembly (9). Remove the exhaust gas valve.

Disconnect clamp (11) and remove exhaust gas valve (10). Installation Procedure
Install exhaust gas valve (10) in the reverse order of removal.
If the original exhaust gas valve is to be installed, ensure that the sealing surfaces are clean and free from damage.
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of sensor (8). Tighten sensor (8) to the following torque 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft).
Tighten clamps (11) and (7) to the following torque 12 1 N m (106 9 lb in).
Replace ball clamp (2) with a new ball clamp. Tighten ball clamp (2) to the following torque 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
