UPDATE PROGRAM FOR CERTAIN NEW MACHINES IN DEALER INVENTORY, 7000 U-41 A-36 C-38.1 This Service Letter announces an Inventory Machine Update Program. This Program updates machines in dealer inventories to insure delivery of the best product possible to customers. The degree to which the Update will benefit the customer is affected by product application. Therefore, dealers should select those Updates that will help address specific deterrents, help sell the product, and provide the customer good reliability. Ninety Updates are contained in the enclosed Product Update Guide (PEGP3804). You can improve product reliability if the Update is installed before the product is delivered. Also, since these improvements have become available since customers last bought their product, these Updates constitute added value and should be merchandised where appropriate to machines already in service. Do not shut down a machine to install an Update. For reference, a pricing worksheet is the last section in the Update Guide. The parts prices listed are a total of suggested consumer list prices for each Update. Blank columns are provided to insert dealer parts prices, labor at dealer's selling rate, and the total price of parts and labor charged for each Update. Additional Published Information Most Updates in the Guide have a reference to some publication such as a Service Magazine article or Special Instruction form for rework instructions. However, T.I.B.'s (Technical Information Bulletins) and Service Letters are not listed due to their confidential nature.
