Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Note: Check the O-ring seals, the gaskets, and the seals for wear or for damage. Replace the components, if necessary.

Typical Example
Attach Tooling (B) and a suitable lifting device to cab (20) and the cab riser. The combined weight of cab (20) and the cab riser is approximately 1950 kg (4300 lb). Use Tooling (B) and the suitable lifting device in order to position cab (20) and the cab riser to the machine.
Install plates (23) (not shown) and bolt (22). Adjust the lateral clearance for plates (23) to a maximum of 1.2 mm (0.05 inch).
Install the washers and nuts (21). Tighten nuts (21) to a torque of 750 50 N m (550 37 lb ft).
Repeat Step 2 and Step 3 for the other side.

Position the rod end of cab tilt cylinder (17) to cab riser (19). Install pin (18). Remove the suitable cribbing.
Position cable assembly (15) to cab riser (19). Install pin (16.) .
Raise the cab and the cab riser. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab Tilt - Raise".

Connect hoses (12) and hoses (13). Install clips (14) .

Connect harness assemblies (10). Connect clip (11) .

Connect hoses (9). Connect hose assemblies (8) .

Connect ground strap (7). Connect hose assemblies (6). Connect hose assemblies (5). Connect hose assemblies (4). Connect hose assemblies (3). Connect hose assemblies (2). Connect hose assemblies (1) .
Lower the cab and cab riser. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cab Tilting - Lower".

Remove Tooling (A) and install the cap for the hydraulic tank.
Charge the air conditioner refrigerant from the air conditioner system. Refer to Service Manual, SENR5664, "Air Conditioning and Heating Systems with R-134a Refrigerant" for the correct procedure. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Air Conditioning Tools" for the correct tools.
