Schematic for the Automatic Blade Position (ABP) Enable SwitchNote: The ABP enable switch is equipped on the 824H and the 826H model machines that have the Automatic Blade Position function.This diagnostic code is associated with the automatic blade position enable switch that is located on the armrest. The FMI 04 means that the ECM has determined that the voltage of the switch circuit is below normal.This switch has two inputs to the ECM. One input is normally open and one input is normally closed. The ECM activates this diagnostic code when both switch inputs are grounded at the same time. During normal operation, one input is open and the other input is grounded.The possible causes of this diagnostic code are listed:
The switch has failed.
Either one or both switch inputs are shorted to ground in the machine harness.
The ECM has failed. This is unlikely.System Response:The machine response is listed:
The ABP function will be disabled.Table 1 contains wire numbers and connector contacts. Use this information to troubleshoot the failed circuit.

CHECK THE SWITCH
Turn the key switch and the disconnect switch to the OFF position.
Disconnect the machine harness from the switch.
With the switch in the OFF position, measure the resistance of the switch contacts from the N.C. signal contact 1 to switch common contact 2.
With the switch in the OFF position, measure the resistance of the switch contacts from N.O signal contact 3 to switch common contact 2.
Move the switch to the ON position, and repeat Steps "C" and "D".Expected Result:When the enable switch is in the OFF position, the resistance measurement for Step "C" should measure less than 5 ohms (continuity). The resistance measurement for Step "D" should measure more than 5000 ohms (OPEN).When the enable switch is in the ON position the resistance measurement for Step "C" should measure less than 5000 ohms (open). The resistance measurement for Step "D" should measure less than 5 ohms (continuity).Results:
YES - All of the resistance checks for the switch are correct. The switch is working correctly. Proceed to Test Step 2.
NO - All of the resistance checks for the switch are NOT correct.Repair: The switch is faulty. Replace the switch. Stop.Test Step 2. CHECK FOR A SHORT TO GROUNDThe key switch and the disconnect switch remain in the OFF position.
