This option may supply some excess parts.If you wish to have Decatur CUSTOM PRODUCTS group package the parts, the following instructions must be followed and information supplied at the time of order.
1. What is the Product Information Number (PIN) of the truck to be retrofitted?2. For Product Information Number 1HL1-48, 51 and 52:
Factory installed exhaust manifolds on these trucks were not designed with ports for the installation of Vital Information Management System (VIMS) exhaust temperature sensors. These manifolds MAY NOT be simply drilled and tapped, the walls are not of sufficient thickness to support the new sensors when under pressure. The following parts must be ordered separately.
3. Is the truck equipped with an Automatic Retarding System?4. The procedures "Changing the Bypass Valve Group" and "Installation of High-Pressure Turbochargers" should be performed prior or during the installation of this retrofit to VIMS. This will include the rework of the engine personality module to a 110-7479 module, which allows the engine control to determine when the truck is converted to VIMS. Contact Decatur CUSTOM PRODUCT for information in regards to the two procedures above if there are any questions at 217-475-4310 (or 217-475-4230).5. On-board software - (3.5 in) diskettesA copy of the current source and configuration for a baseline VIMS does not support the field addition of SMART WASTE GATE, REAR AXLE FILTER SYSTEM and/or ADEM controlled Cooling Fan.
Be prepared to indicate if these systems are on the truck to be retrofitted.6. Off-board software - (3.5 in) diskettesThis license (JERD2092) of VIMS-PC software is included with the custom order.
This is a one time only issue and no updates are provided; however, this license does include a license for PC Common Services System (CSS), which is required to install and run VIMS-PC.Option 2
If you wish to purchase the parts individually through the normal distribution system, the following instructions must be followed.1.
