Illustration 1 g00560575Note: O-ring seals, gaskets, and seals should always be replaced. A used O-ring may not have the same sealing properties as a new O-ring seal. A reconditioning procedure should not be degraded because of a low cost component such as an O-ring seal or a gasket. Use 1U-6396 O-Ring Assembly Compound during the assembly procedure.
Put the O-ring seals into position on sleeve (3). Put the sleeve into position in the transmission case.
Put O-ring seal (4) into position on the transmission case. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals.

Fasten a suitable lifting device and Tooling (B) to bevel gears (1). Put the gears into position on the transmission and install three bolts (2). End By:
Install the transmission hydraulic control valves. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve - Install".
Install the transmission and the bevel gears. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Transmission and Bevel Gears - Install".
