Air under pressure can cause personal injury. Release the pressure from the air system before any lines are removed or disconnected
1. Remove mounting bolts (1) from the base of the brake treadle. 2. Put identification on the brake lines for installation purposes. Disconnect all necessary brake lines (2) from the valve.3. Remove service brake valve (3) and brake treadle as a unit from the floor board. The following steps are for the installation of the service brake valve.4. Put service brake valve (3) and brake treadle as a unit in position on the floor board.5. Connect all brake lines (2) to their respective ports.6. Install mounting bolts (1) that hold the base of the brake treadle.Disassemble & Assemble Service Brake Valve
a. remove service brake valve 1. Remove bolts (1) to separate the brake treadle from the brake service valve. 2. Remove plug (2) from service brake valve body. Inspect the O-ring seal on the plug (2). 3. Remove spring (6), valve (4), spring (5) and valve (3).4. Turn service brake valve body around to the opposite side and remove spring retainer (11), large spring (12), spring retainer (9), seat (7), ball (10) and spring (8). 5. Remove spring (15) and washer (14). Spring (15) and washer (14) were located in spring retainer (11). Remove and inspect stem (13). The following steps are for the assembly of the service brake valve.6. Install stem (13) in the base of the service brake treadle.7. Install spring (15) and washer (14) in spring retainer (11).8. Install spring retainer (11) on spring (12). Install spring retainer (9) on spring (12) along with seat (7), ball (10) and spring (8). Install this spring assembly into the cavity of the service brake valve body.9. Install valve (3), spring (5), valve (4) and spring (6) in the service brake valve body.10. Install plug (2). Tighten the plug to a torque of 50 to 60 N m (37 to 44 lb.ft.).11. Install bolts (1) that hold service brake valve and brake treadle together.End By:a. install service brake valve
