Filters and Pump Housing
With Hand Priming Pump (If Equipped)
1. Move the governor lever to the SHUT-OFF position. 2. Unscrew the hand priming pump plunger until it can be pulled out by hand. 3. Move the plunger in and out until a resistance is felt. 4. Push the plunger in and tighten by hand.5. Start the engine and check for leaks.Without Hand Priming Pump
1. When the priming pump is not used, the position of fuel line and plug are reversed. Some of the fuel in the manifold is sent back through the anti-siphon block and through the return line to the fuel tank to remove air from the system after the fuel filter is changed.Orifices in the anti-siphon block control the amount of fuel that goes back to the fuel tank.2. If the engine does not start, the injection pumps and high pressure lines must be primed.
