G398, G399 Natural Gas EnginesDescription of Change: A new piston ring group is available for parts service for G379, G398 and G399 Natural Gas Engines. The new ring group is exactly the same as the former ring group except for the part number. The former piston ring group was, at one time, used in both diesel and natural gas engines. The diesel engines now use a piston ring group of a different design.
This change prevents the use of the wrong piston ring group in a diesel engine because the common, former ring group is canceled.
Adaptable As: The 1W6055 Piston Ring Group is a direct replacement for the former 9S8973 Piston Ring Group which is canceled.
