When the parking brakes are released manually, the machine has no brakes. To avoid possible personal injury, the tracks must be blocked securely before the parking brakes are manually released.
To tow the machine, the following procedure must be performed prior to towing the machine.
Locate the propel pumps. The propel pumps are closest to the drive box for the pump. The propel pumps can be accessed through the right access door.

There are a total of four multifunction valves on the propel pumps. All four valves must be set to the bypass condition.
Hold the multifunction valve cartridge with a 1 1/4 inch wrench in order to prevent rotation of the cartridge.
Rotate the nut in a counterclockwise direction with a 1 1/16 inch wrench in order to open the bypass valve.Note: Do not rotate the cartridge more than 3 1/2 turns.

Locate the valve for the brake release and associated plumbing. The valve is located inside the left access door.
Loosen the locking ring and turn the adjusting knob for the brake release clockwise until the adjusting knob stops.
Use the hand pump that is located on the brake release. Operate the hand pump until resistance is felt.Note: Only tow the machine at low speeds and for short distances.
After the machine has been repaired, reset the four bypass valves. Torque the nut to 41 N m (30 lb ft).
Turn the adjusting knob for the brake release fully in a counterclockwise direction and tighten the locking ring.Note: Do not propel the machine when the brakes have been released with the hand pump.
