Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contaminants may cause rapid wear and shortened component life.
Drain the engine oil.

Remove bolt (1) and the washer.
Remove bolts (3), the washers, flange (4), and the gasket.
Remove tube assembly (2) .

Use Tooling (A) to support engine oil pan (10). The weight of engine oil pan (10) is approximately 109 kg (240 lb).
Remove tube assemblies (6) and (9) .
Remove bolt (5) and adapter (8) .
Remove flange (7) .
Remove bolts (11) .
Remove engine oil pan (10) and the gasket.Installation Procedure

Use Tooling (A) to support engine oil pan (10). The weight of engine oil pan (10) is approximately 109 kg (240 lb).
Position the gasket and engine oil pan (10) on the engine. Install bolts (11) .
Install flange (7) .
Install adapter (8) and bolt (5) .
Install tube assemblies (9) and (6) .

Position the gasket and flange (4). Install tube assembly (2) .
Install bolts (3) and the washers. Install bolt (1) and the washer.Note: If the oil drain plug was removed, install the oil drain plug. Tighten the oil drain plug to a torque of 70 10 N m (52 7 lb ft).
Fill the engine with engine oil to the correct level. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change".
