Air under pressure can cause personal injury. Before working on or around the air systems and components observe the following precautions.
a. Move the machine to a smooth and level location away from other working machines and personnel. Block the wheels and stop the engine.b. Keep clear of actuator pushrods and linkages when the system is being operated in any way.c. Do not remove plugs or lines, or disassemble components unless you are sure that all air pressure is exhausted.d. Do not disassemble a component unless you have read and understood the correct procedures. Some components contain powerful springs. Injury can result from incorrect disassembly. 1. Disconnect electrical harness connector (1) [hidden arrow].2. Remove bolts (3) and then remove shield (2). 3. Remove the bolts that hold cover (5) and then remove cover (5). Disconnect air line (4) from the parking brake chamber. 4. Put a suitable amount of shop air (6) into the chamber to release the the brake. 5. Remove pin (9), remove bolts (8) and then lift the parking brake actuator assembly (7) off. The following steps are for the installation of the parking brake actuator assembly.6. Put parking brake actuator assembly (7) in position with bolts (8). Install pin (9).7. Connect air line (4) to the parking brake chamber. Install cover (5) with the bolts that hold it.8. Install shield (2) with bolts (3).9. Connect electrical harness connector (1).Disassemble Parking Brake Actuator Assembly

Injury can result from incorrect disassembly.Start By:a. remove parking brake actuator assembly 1. Remove bolts (1) to remove cover (2). 2. Use tool (A) to remove retainer ring (3). 3. Remove spacer (8). Remove seal (11) from the spacer and inspect it.4. Remove plunger (9) and shaft (5), remove spacer (7) and washer (6) from the shaft.5. Remove yoke (4). 6. Put the spring assembly in position in a press. Secure a coupling (12) and piece of bar stock (11). Put coupling and bar stock in position on the spring assembly as shown.
Spring pressure is present inside the spring assembly. To prevent personal injury carefully follow the instructions.
7. Push down slowly on housing and the spring assembly. Remove retainer ring from inside of housing (14).8. Slowly release the pressure from the spring assembly. Lift the housing (14) and spring (13) from the spring retainer. Remove and inspect seals (15) from the spring retainer.Assemble Parking Brake Actuator Assembly
1. Install new seals (15) on the spring retainer
