Location of Accumulator Charging Valve (1) Accumulator charging valve. (2) Pressure tap.Accumulator charging valve (1) is located under the cab on the left side of the machine.Testing
Make reference to the S on the first several pages of the Testing And Adjusting section.
The pressure of accumulator charging valve (1) can be tested at pressure tap (2) .
Connect a pressure gauge at pressure tap (2). The gauge and the line must be capable of withstanding up to 20700 kPa (3002 psi) of pressure.
Start the engine and raise the engine speed to high idle.
Observe the pressure gauge. Make sure that the cutout pressure is 14485 345 kPa (2100 50 psi).
Apply the brakes repeatedly while the engine is running. Observe the pressure gauge. Make sure that the cut-in pressure is 11725 345 kPa (1700 50 psi). The needle in the gauge should drop consistently. Then, the needle should rise quickly.
If the cutout pressure and the cut-in pressure do not match the specifications, adjust the pressures.Adjusting

Stop the engine.
Purge the air from the brake accumulators by applying the brakes repeatedly.
Make sure that the tank is releived of residual pressure.
Remove cover (4) .
The charging limits will move together. The range between cutout pressure and cut-in pressure is not adjustable. Turn the hex plug inside the cover clockwise by one quarter of a turn in order to increase the cutout pressure and the cut-in pressure by approximately 689 kPa (100 psi).
Install cover (4) .
Start the engine. Make sure that the cutout pressure is 14485 345 kPa (2100 50 psi). Make sure that the cut-in pressure is 11725 345 kPa (1700 50 psi).
