Description
The optional modem and power supply for the modem are located on the floor panel of the SMS Bypass cabinet. The Modem Transformer (T4) is located on a panel at the bottom of the right side of the Bypass cabinet. The transformer takes voltage from the UPS. Then, the transformer converts the voltage to normal modem voltage. There are two different configurations for the transformer that are dependent on the output power. Refer to the following configurations:
115 VAC
230 VACRemoval Procedure
Refer to Systems Operation, Testing and Adjusting, RENR9988, "Internal Component Preremoval Steps (SMS Bypass Cabinet)" in order to shut down the system and gain access to internal components.
Disconnect the wires that lead to the transformer and from the transformer. The wires contain a labeling with the location of the wire. Verify the labeling of the wires for subsequent installation.
Remove the four hex bolts (1) on the front of the transformer that secure the transformer to the bottom right panel of the cabinet.Installation Procedure
Position the transformer in the cabinet on the lower right panel. Secure the transformer with four hex head bolts (1) .
