Installation Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.

Attach a suitable lifting device to piston motor (6) and position piston motor (6) to fan drive assembly (12). The weight of piston motor (6) is approximately 68 kg (150 lb).
Install bolts (16).

Position fan drive assembly (12) onto suitable blocking.
Attach a suitable lifting device to spider assembly (13) and position spider assembly (13) to fan drive assembly (12). The weight of spider assembly (13) is approximately 71 kg (157 lb). The blades should be facing the downward direction, as shown.
Install bolts (14). Tighten bolts (14) to a torque of 55 10 N m (40 5 lb ft).
Install bolt (15) and the adapter. Tighten bolt (15) to a torque of 215 40 N m (160 30 lb ft).

Attach a suitable lifting device to fan drive assembly (12) and position fan drive assembly (12). The weight of fan drive assembly (12) is approximately 245 kg (540 lb). Install fan drive assembly (12).
Install bolts (11) that fasten fan drive assembly (12) to the radiator guard assembly.

Install lower fan guard assembly (10).
Install center fan guard assemblies (9).

Install filter assembly (8).
Install bolts (7).
Connect hose assemblies (5), (4), and (3) to piston motor (6).

Use two people in order to install upper grill (2). The weight of upper grill (2) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb).

Use two people in order to install lower grill (1). The weight of lower grill (1) is approximately 25 kg (55 lb). End By:
Separate the steering frame lock. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Steering Frame Lock - Separate and Connect".
