Removal Procedure
Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire. To help prevent possible injury, turn the start switch off when changing fuel filters or water separator elements. Clean up fuel spills immediately.
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

Remove nuts (1) and cover (2).

Remove nuts (3) and disconnect harness assemblies (6).
Disconnect hose assemblies (7).
Remove bolts (5) and electric motor (4).

Remove fuel filter (11) from electric motor (4).
Remove bolts (10) and remove screed burner fuel pump (8) from electric motor (4).
Loosen the set screw and remove coupling (9) from screed burner fuel pump (8). Installation Procedure

Install coupling (9) on screed burner fuel pump (8) and tighten the set screw.
Install screed burner fuel pump (8) on electric motor (4) and install bolts (10).
Install fuel filter (11) on electric motor (4).

Install bolts (5) and electric motor (4).
Connect hose assemblies (7).
Connect harness assemblies (6) and install nuts (3).

Install cover (2) and nuts (1).
Turn the battery disconnect switch to the ON position.
