1. Begin rotating the pump counterclockwise (CCW), as viewed from the drive end of the pump. Slowly increase rotation to 600 rpm. 2. Observe charge pressure by installing a 0 to 3500 kPa (0 to 500 psi) gauge in charge pressure port. Charge pressure should be 2470 170 kPa (360 25 psi).3. Apply 400 kPa (60 psi) signal pressure to pump control port (3, Figure 1). The opposite control port must be open to atmosphere or connected to drain to prevent hydraulic lock in the control spool. The pump should produce an observable flow at the flowmeter (approximately 6 to 8 lpm (1.5 to 2.0 gpm). Run the pump for 5 minutes to purge the air from the system. 4. Reduce the signal pressure to control port to zero.
