Cut cable strap (22). Remove bolts (21). Disconnect harness assembly (23) and position harness assembly (23) out of the way.

Cut the cable straps and disconnect harness assemblies (24).

Attach a suitable lifting device to hood assembly (28). The weight of hood assembly (28) is approximately 132 kg (290 lb). Remove hood assembly (28).

Rotate hood assembly (28) and position hood assembly (28) on suitable cribbing as shown.
Loosen bolts (30). Depress locking tabs (31) (not shown) on each side of outer housing (32) and remove outer housing (32) from air cleaner (29).

Disconnect harness assembly (35).
Remove bolts (34) and air cleaner (29).

Attach a suitable lifting device to clean emissions module (38). The weight of clean emissions module (38) is approximately 80 kg (176 lb). Lift clean emissions module (38) from hood assembly (28) and position clean emissions module (38) on suitable cribbing.Installation Procedure
Install hood assembly (28) in the reverse order of removal.
Tighten clamp (15) to a torque of 35 2 N m (26 1 lb ft).
Tighten clamp (12) to a torque of 55 8 N m (41 6 lb ft).
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of nitrogen oxide sensor (10).Note: New nitrogen oxide sensor probes are prelubricated. Do not use Tooling (A) on new nitrogen oxide sensor probes. When installing an existing nitrogen oxide sensor probe, apply Tooling (A) on the threads only.
Tighten nitrogen oxide sensor (10) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
Tighten clamp (9) to a torque of 90 10 N m (66 7 lb ft).
Tighten soot sensor antennas (7) to a torque of 1.2 0.2 N m (11 1.8 lb in).
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of temperature sensor (DPF) (6).
Tighten temperature sensor (DPF) (6) to a torque of 45 5 N m (33 4 lb ft)
Apply Tooling (A) to the threads of nitrogen oxide sensor (1).Note: New nitrogen oxide sensor probes are prelubricated. Do not use Tooling (A) on new nitrogen oxide sensor probes. When installing an existing nitrogen oxide sensor probe, apply Tooling (A) on the threads only.
Tighten nitrogen oxide sensor (1) to a torque of 50 10 N m (37 7 lb ft).
