Assembly Procedure
Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Caterpillar Tools and Shop Products Guide" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Caterpillar products.Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.
Keep all parts clean from contaminants.Contamination of the hydraulic system with foreign material will reduce the service life of the hydraulic system components.To prevent contaminants from entering the hydraulic system, always plug or cap the lines, fittings, or hoses as they are disconnected. Cover any disassembled components and clean them properly before assembly.Clean the hydraulic system properly after any major component exchange or especially after a component failure, to remove any contamination.
Note: Lightly coat all internal components with hydraulic oil. Lightly coat all seals and sealing surfaces with hydraulic oil.

Install three O-ring seals (5) onto block (6). Install block (6) .
Install three O-ring seals (7) onto pilot control actuator (8). Install pilot control actuator (8) .
Repeat step 2 for the remaining actuators on the same side.
Install ejector stem (15) .
Install apron stem (14) .
Install bowl stem (13) .
Install one O-ring seal onto each plug (10). Install pistons (9) and plugs (10) into block (6) .Note: The slots in stems (13), (14), and (15) must align with pistons (9) .
Install three O-ring seals (4) onto block (3). Install block (3) .
Install three O-ring seals (2) to pilot control actuator (1). Install pilot control actuator (1) .
Repeat step 9 for the remaining pilot control actuators on the same side.
Install one O-ring seal onto each plug (11) and (16). Install plugs (11) and (16) .
Install one O-ring seal onto each plug (19). Install one plug (19) into each flange (19) .
Install one O-ring seal onto each flange (19). Install flanges (19) .
Install main relief valve (12). Tighten main relief valve (12) to a torque of 135 15 N m (100 11 lb ft).
Install three O-ring seals (17) onto sequence valve (18). Install sequence valve (18) .End By: Install the main control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Main Control Valve - Install".
