This Program can be administered either before or after a failure. In either case the decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS4248" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. If administered before failure, use "56" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "T" as the SIMS Description Code. If administered after failure, use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.
This Revised Service Letter replaces the August 18, 1998 (Revised September 1998) Service Letter. Changes have been made to the Affected Product, Rework Procedure and Service Claims Allowances.

A new transmission filter drain and oil fill tube needs to be installed on certain 980G Wheel Loaders, 824G, 825G and 826G Compactors. The rear hood may interfere with the engine oil fill tube cap. The transmission filter drain can be installed incorrectly. New filler tubes and transmission filter drains need to be installed.

Group 1
Remove the existing ball valve, seal, adapter and nipple. Install a new 1532767 Valve - Ball directly to the 6P4603 Filter Group. See Illustration 1.
Group 2
Remove the existing ball valve and install a new 1532767 Valve - Ball directly to the 6P4603 Filter Group.
Group 3
Remove the existing fill tube assembly (from the oil filler group) and plate assembly (from front cover group) and replace with new parts. See Illustration 2.
