Information:

(6) Install reaction bar (10) (tool J) and feed assembly (11) (tool K). Make sure the feed assembly is completely filled with oil. (7) Put the edge of tool bit (7) against the outer face of the bore. Install stop assembly (12) (tool L) at dimension (X) [225-2.81" .03 (71.4 .8); 235-3.56" .02" (90.4 .5)]. This dimension gives the depth of cut to be made. Stop assembly (12) is not needed on 215 machines. Turn the setscrew behind tool bit (7) to adjust the amount of cut to be made. Turn the bar by hand to make sure that not more than .020" (.5) will be removed.(8) Put engine oil on the boring bar and bronze bushings before each cut is made. Install universal joint (tool M) in a .5" (12.7) capacity or larger drill motor. Put the feed assembly in the feed position and make the first cut. Do not let stop assembly (12) turn against the feed assembly; the stop assembly will slide on the shaft if too much pressure is used. (9) Turn the setscrew behind the cutting tool approximately 90° for each cut to be made. This will make the diameter approximately .020" (5) larger. Do not remove more than .010" (.25) of material in a single pass. Use a centering ring to check the accuracy of FT1481 Measuring Tool (13) (tool N). Use tool (13) to measure tool (7). (10) When the diameter of the bore is approximately .020" (.5) smaller than the finished bore size remove the boring bar. Use dial bore gauge (14) (tool P) to check the diameter of the bore. Subtract the present bore size from the finished bore size (see above chart) and divide by two to get the amount of material yet to be removed. Install dial indicator group (15) (tool Q) on the boring bar. Set the tool bit and remove the remainder of material from the bore. Do not remove more than .004" .001" (.10 .03) of material on the last cut.(11) After the first bore has been machined, turn the boring bar around and use the same procedure to machine the bore on the other side. When the first two bearing bores are finished, remove the boring bar and the puller stud assembly from the other bores. Install the puller stud assembly in the new bearing bore. Use the same procedure as given earlier to machine the other set of bearing bores. When all the machine work is complete, remove the tools and install new bearings in both sets of bores. 215 Excavators do not have bearings in the fore boom.Stub Boom
The type of stub boom and the number of damaged bearing bores will give variable repair procedures. This instruction gives the procedure to repair the bearing bores as if all three sets are damaged. Similar repair procedures can be used if only one or two sets of the bearing bores are damaged.
Do not use the hydraulics
