Information:
Remove & Install Expansion Tank
Start By:a. remove air separators
Photo does not show the air separators removed. Both the 3408 & 3412 Marine Engines (Later) follow the same removal steps.1. Drain the cooling system into a suitable container for storage for storage or disposal.2. Loosen hose clamp (1) and disconnect the hose assembly.3. Disconnect electrical connection (2) if equipped. 4. Loosen hose clamps (3) and (4).5. Use a strap and a suitable lifting device to support expansion tank (5). 6. Loosen two bolts (6).7. Loosen two bolts (8).8. Remove the two clamp straps (7) with the attached rubber dampers from the expansion tank.9. Remove expansion tank (5) from the engine. The weight of the expansion tank for the 3408 & 3412 Marine Engine is 34 kg (75 lb).10. Fill the cooling system to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual. For installation of the expansion tank, reverse the removal steps.End By:a. install air separators
