Remove & Install Aftercooler Housing (Industrial Engine)
1. Drain the coolant from the engine into a suitable container for storage or disposal. 2. Remove four bolts, nuts and washers (2). Remove cover (1).3. Loosen clamp (4) and move air inlet pipe (3) away from the aftercooler housing. 4. Fasten a hoist and Tool (A) to aftercooler housing (5). Remove twelve bolts and washers (6) that hold the aftercooler housing to the cylinder head. Remove the aftercooler housing and the gaskets. The weight of the aftercooler housing is 34 kg (75 lb). The following steps are for the installation of the aftercooler housing. 5. Put the six gaskets in position on the cylinder head.6. Fasten a hoist and Tool (A) to aftercooler housing (5), and put the aftercooler housing in position on the water pipes and cylinder head. Put clean engine oil or glycerin on all O-ring seals and in their bores at assembly.7. Put 9S-3263 Thread Lockon the threads of the bolts, and install the bolts that hold the aftercooler housing to the cylinder head. 8. Put air inlet pipe (3) in position and tighten clamp (4). Tighten clamp (4) on the turbocharger to a torque of 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft).Tap the clamp lightly all around and tighten again to a torque of 14 1 N m (10 1 lb ft).9. Put cover (1) in position and install four bolts, nuts and washers (2).10. Fill the engine with coolant to the correct level. See the Operation & Maintenance Manual.
