Typical Example
Install the retaining bolt for the pin assembly (14) and the washers.
Tighten the retaining bolt for the pin assembly (14) to a torque of 460 60 N m (339 44 lb ft).
Remove the plugs from the end of hose assemblies (17) and the caps from the connectors.
Connect hose assemblies (17) to the hydraulic lines, as shown.

Remove the plugs from the end of hose assemblies (13) and the caps from the connectors.
Connect hose assemblies (13) to the hydraulic lines, as shown.
Remove the lifting strap from the head end of the boom cylinder.
Lift the rod end of boom cylinder (11) to the pin joint for the boom cylinder.
Make sure that the pin bore of the rod end of boom cylinder (11) is thoroughly clean prior to installation of the pin assembly.Note: Prior to installing Tool (F), be sure that the threaded hole of pin (12) is clean.
Make sure that the threaded puller hole in the end of boom cylinder support pin (12) is clean.
Fasten Tool (F) to support pin (12) .
Align the pin bore of the cylinder rod with pin (12) .
Use a hammer in order to drive on Tool (F) until pin (12) is centered in the pin joint.
Remove Tool (F) from pin (12) .
Install plate (10), three bolts (9), and the washers on each side of the support pin of the boom cylinders.

Make sure that the remaining bolts (25) have 4C-5593 Anti-Seize Compound on the threads.
Install the remaining bolts (25) .
Tighten the remaining bolts (25) .
The machine can be rotated to the left or to the right in order to access bolts (25).
Use Tooling (D) in order to tighten all bolts (25) to a torque of 1000 125 N m (738 92 lb ft).

Install lubrication tube assemblies (26) to block (27) on the frame of the upper structure.

Support guard (7) with an appropriate lifting device.
Position the guard on the upper structure.
Install bolts (8) that hold the guard to the upper structure.

Remove two bolts (2) from final drive cover (4) .

Install two M24 threaded rods (3) in each final drive, as shown.Note: To prevent possible personal injury, use two persons or a suitable hoist when you remove cover (4).
Remove the remaining bolts (2) and cover (4) from the final drive. The weight of cover (4) is approximately 30 kg (66 lb).

Put ring gear (6) in position in cover (4) for the final drive.
Make sure that the 12 mounting holes in ring gear (6) and cover (4) are aligned.
Apply 4C-4030 Thread Lock Compound on the threads of the 12 socket head bolts (5) .
Install 12 socket head bolts (5). The bolts hold the ring gear to the cover of the final drive. Tighten the socket head bolts evenly.
Make sure that the machined surface of the final drive ring gear is thoroughly clean, free of dirt and debris.
Apply 1U-8846 Sealant on the flange of the ring gear of the final drive.
