Note: The Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group should be tested before every shift because of the steel mills extreme operating environment.Testing Procedure for the Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group
The Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group may be tested without causing damage to the transmission or damage to the clutch solenoid. Note: When you are using the Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group, the transmission gear display will not show the range that is selected.When you are using the Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group, the transmission gear display will not indicate the direction that is selected.
Place the machine on level ground. Allow enough room in the front and the back of the machine for safe testing.
Run the engine at idle.
Place the transmission in neutral.
Move the switch for the Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group into the forward position. The machine should move immediately forward. Release the switch.
Move the switch for the Transmission & Parking Brake Override Control Group into the reverse position. The machine should move immediately backward and the backup alarm should sound. Release the switch.

Transmission Override Indicator
A warning light will indicate that the Transmission Override System has lost power from the power supply and that the machine will need to be serviced as soon as possible.Troubleshooting

Parking Brake Release

Indicator for the Parking Brake Override The Indicator for the Parking Brake Override will illuminate in order to indicate that the Indicator for the Parking Brake Override has lost power from the power supply. The machine will need to be removed from the heat until the warning light turns off. The Indicator will also illuminate when the Parking Brake is engaged.To prevent Machine movement, block wheels before activating the Parking Brake Release.When the switch is in the bottom position, the Parking Brake will be disengaged.For normal Parking Brake operation, the parking brake switch must be in the middle position.To test the Parking Brake Override, move the parking brake switch to the top position. The Indicator light will illuminate.Troubleshooting

Water/glycol solutions from different suppliers will vary in properties. Avoid mixing different brands of fluids. Your fluid supplier can furnish information regarding the necessary tests for proper maintenance. The hydraulic system should be checked in accordance with the instructions in the Operation and Maintenance Manual.Water will evaporate during normal operation of the hydraulic system.
