Dash was removed for photo purposes only. 1. Remove four bolts (1) and lockwashers. Remove plate (2). Remove bolt (4) and nut. Remove governor control lever (3). Hour meter and steering clutch lever were removed for photo purposes only. 2. Remove cotter pin (5) and pin (6). Do not remove bolt (9).3. Remove three bolts (8), nuts and lockwashers which fasten the detent assembly to the dash. Loosen clamp (7). Remove the detent assembly, linkage, boot and clamp from the dash. 4. Remove bolt (10). Remove lever (13) and linkage rod (11) from detent assembly (12). Put a mark on bolt (9) for correct location on the detent assembly. 5. Remove two keys from the detent assembly shaft (15). Remove bolt (9), nut and lockwasher. Remove support assembly (14) and gasket from the shaft. 6. Remove two bearings and seal from support assembly (14) with tooling (A). 7. Remove shaft assembly (15), two rollers (16) and two springs from ring assembly (17). 8. Make a separation of shaft assembly (15) and spring (18). 9. Remove seal from ring (17) with tooling (A). ? 10. Remove cotter pin and pin (20). Remove four bolts (19) which fasten two bracket assemblies (21) to the dash. 11. Remove two bolts, two levers (22), two keys and two bracket assemblies (21) from shaft (23). 12. Remove the bearing from each bracket (21) with a tool made from 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter pipe, 3 inches (76.2 mm) long. 13. Remove cotter pin and pin (25). Remove nut (28) and disconnect decelerator linkage from bellcrank (26). Remove pin (24) and shaft (27). Remove the bellcrank from the bracket. 14. Remove two bearings from bellcrank (26) with tooling (A).Install Governor Control
1. Install two bearings in bellcrank (1) with tooling (A). Install each bearing until even with the surface of the bellcrank. 2. Put the bellcrank in position in the bracket. Install the shaft. Be sure hole (2) in the shaft is is alignment with hole (3) in the bracket. Install pin in the shaft and bracket. Connect the decelerator linkage on the bellcrank with nut. Connect rod end to bellcrank with pin and cotter pin. 3. Install bearing in each bracket (4) with tool made from 1 inch (25.4 mm) diameter pipe, 3 inches (76.2 mm) long and a press. 4. Install two bracket assemblies (4), two keys (5) and two levers (7) on shaft (6). 5. Fasten two bracket assemblies (4) to the dash with four bolts and lockwashers. Connect rod end to lever (7) with pin and cotter pin. The lip type seal must be installed in the ring with the seal lip away from the spring lock mechanism. 6. Install lip type seal in ring (8) with tooling (A) until the seal is even with the surface of the ring. 7. Assemble shaft assemblies (9) and spring (10). The lip type seal must be installed in the support with seal lip away from the spring lock mechanism. 8. Install two
