Remove the axle assembly from the machine. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fixed Axle (Front) - Remove" or Disassembly and Assembly, "Oscillating Axle (Rear) - Remove".
Remove the axle shafts. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Axle Shaft - Remove".Note: The procedures for removing the front final drive and brake assemblies and the rear final drive and brake assemblies are the same.Note: Put identification marks on all lines, on all hoses, on all wires and on all tubes for installation purposes. Plug all lines, all hoses, and all tubes to prevent fluid loss and contaminants from entering the system.

Disconnect hose assembly (2) through hose assembly (5) from final drive and brake (1).

Using Tooling (A) and a suitable lifting device, remove 22 nuts (6), 22 washers (7), and final drive and brake (1). The weight of final drive and brake (1) is approximately 1500 kg (3300 lb).

Using a suitable lifting device, remove O-ring seal (8) , spacer (9), and O-ring seal (10). The weight of spacer (9) is approximately 90 kg (200 lb).
If necessary, remove 22 studs (11).
